【学习目标】 1. 能够判断宾语从句和表语从句 2. 能掌握并熟练运用宾语及表语从句 【学习重难点】 能掌握并熟练运用宾语及表语从句 【学习方法】 自学,讨论 【学习过程】 Step1 课前预习 一.名词性从句(Noun Clauses)相当于名词,可分别作主句的主语、表语、宾语 和同位语 。因此,名词性从句可分为 主语从句 (Subject Clause) 、表语从句 (Predicative Clause) 、 宾 语 从 句 (Object Clause) 和 同 位 语 从 句 (Appositive Clause) 例句: 主语从句 Who will win the match is still unknown. 宾语从句 I want to know what he has told you. 表语从句 The fact is that we have lost the game. 同位语从句 The news that we won the game is exciting. 二.Conjunctions of Noun Clauses(引导名词性从句的关联词): 从属连词(不作成分)that, whether, if , as if/as though 连接代词(作成分)what, who, whom, whose, which, wh+ever 连接副词(作状语)when, where, how, why Step 2 自主学习 一. 宾语从句 课文中原句

I did not know whether I could survive until morning. 宾语从句就是从句在主句中作宾语的名词性从句 , 通常放在主句谓语动词(及 物动词)或介词之后。 1.I decided (that )I would go to the party. 2.I don’t know if/whether he will come back tomorrow. 3.I want to know how it happened. 4. He was listening to what the teacher said. (1)whether 和 if 引导宾语从句时的区别 情况 从句置于句首时 从句作介词的宾语时 从句作 discuss,doubt 等动词的宾语时 与 or not 直接连用时 用 if 容易产生歧义时 从句为否定句时 I'm not sure whether she will come or not. whether √ √ if

He doesn't know whether to visit that old man again. (2)做动词的宾语 ①大部分宾语从句直接跟在动词后: e.g. He doesn't know where the post office is. ②有些宾语从句前要有间接宾语: e.g. He told me what I should read. ③如果宾语从句后面有宾语补足语, 要使用形式宾语 it 而将从句放到补足 语后面; e.g. I thought it strange that he failed to call me. 我觉得奇怪:他没给我打电话。

④在 think, believe, suppose, expect 等动词之后的宾语从句中,如果从句谓 语是否定含义,则不用否定形式,而将主句谓语动词 think 等变为否定形式; e.g. I don’t think you are right. 我想你是不对的。 ⑤在 think,believe,imagine,suppose,guess,hope 等动词以及 I’m afraid 等后, 可用 so 代替一个肯定的宾语从句, 还可用 not 代替一个否定的宾语从句: e.g. 一 Do you believe it will clear up? 一 I believe so. 我认为会这样。 一 I don't believe so.(或 I believe not.) (2)做介词的宾语 ①一般情况下,宾语从句直接跟在谓语后; e.g. Did she say anything about how we should do the work? ②that 引导的宾语从句只有在 except, in, but, besides 等少数介词后偶尔可能 用到; e.g. Your article is all right except that it is too long. ③有时在介词和其宾语从句的中间加形式宾语 it; e.g. I’ll see to it that everything is ready. 我认为不会这样。 你认为天气会转晴吗?

(3)宾语从句要注意的问题: ①从句是并列句时,第二个分句前的 that 不可省。 e.g.He phoned us to tell (that) it was time for us to set off and that he would wait for us at the first crossing.(第一个 that 可省但第二个 that 则不可) 他打电话告诉我们该出发了, 并且告诉我们他将在第一个十字路口处等着我 们。 ②在 insist,demand,order,suggest,propose,advise,desire 等表示要求、 命令、建议、坚持等意义的动词后,that 宾语从句中谓语常用“(should+)动词原 形” ,表示虚拟。 ③动词+it+形容词或惯用搭配+that 从句,it 为形式宾语,that 从句为真正 的宾语。 ④动词 doubt 用于否定结构或疑问结构时,接 that 从句作宾语。 ⑤主句为第一人称,主句谓语为 think,believe,imagine,suppose 和 expect 等动词,其引起的否定性宾语从句中,要把主句中的动词变为否定式,即将从句

中的否定形式移到主句中。 二.表语从句 在复合句中位于系动词之后作表语的从句叫做表语从句。 e.g.The most important thing is that we should find enough water for the sheep. 最为重要的是我们应为羊找到足够的水。 The doubt is who has taken away the valuable painting. 名贵的画。 (1)that 引导的表语从句 that 仅起连接作用,无意义,在句中不作任何成分,通常不可省略。这种从句 往往是对主句主语的内容起进一步解释的作用。 e.g. The chance is that one smoker in four will die from smoking. (2)whether 引导的表语从句 连接词 whether 起连接作用, 意为“是否、究竟、到底”(注意:if 不能引导表 语从句) 在句中也不作任何成分。 e.g. The question is whether what man will turn up in time. (3)where, when, why, how 引导的表语从句 连接副词 where, when, why, how 除在句中起连接作用外,在从句中还充当时 间、地点、方式、原因状语,本身具有词义。 e.g. That’s where I can’t agree with you. This is why Sara was late for the meeting. This is how they overcome the difficulties. My strongest memory is when I attended an American wedding. (4)其他连词 as if, because, as, as though 引导的表语从句 because 引导表语从句通常只用于“This/That/It is because…”结构中。 as if/though 引导的表语从句常置于连系动词 look, seem, sound, be, become 等 后面,常用虚拟语气,表示不存在的动作或状态。 e.g. It sounds as if/though somebody was knocking at the door. My anger is because you haven’t written to me for a long time. 注意:主语是表示“建议、命令、要求、计划(suggestion,advice,proposal,order, command,request,requirement,demand,plan)”等的名词时,表语从句应该用 疑点是谁拿走了那幅

虚拟语气,即从句谓语动词用“should+动词原形” ,should 可以省略。 My suggestion is that we(should)set off early tomorrow.我的建议是我们明天早早 动身。
